There’s something electrifying about hearing how someone defied the odds whether it’s a scientist cracking a problem everyone thought was impossible, a historical figure turning the tide against all expectations, or even a fictional character pulling off the unthinkable.
For me, it was reading about the Voyager missions. Those little probes were launched in the '70s with tech that’s laughable by today’s standards, yet they’re still out there, sending back data from interstellar space. It made me realize how much we underestimate long-term persistence.
What’s a story real or imagined that made you stop and think, “Wait, that actually happened?” or “Why couldn’t that happen?” I’d love to hear what stuck with you.
