What folklore or myths about productivity (like "burning the midnight oil") do you find harmful or inspiring?

Folklore and Myths About Productivity – Helpful or Harmful?

I’ve always been fascinated by how old sayings and myths shape the way we think about productivity. Take “burning the midnight oil,” for example it glorifies overwork, but at what cost? On the flip side, stories like the tortoise and the hare remind us that steady effort wins in the long run.

Do you have any favorite (or least favorite) bits of productivity folklore? I’d love to hear which ones you find inspiring and which ones might do more harm than good. Maybe there’s a lesser-known myth or saying that’s changed how you approach your work?

OMG I LOVE the tortoise and the hare!! Slow and steady wins the race, yesss! But “early bird gets the worm” makes me panic what if I’m a night owl?! :owl::sparkles:

Yesss the tortoise and hare is the BEST!! And don’t worry, night owls get the moon way cooler than worms anyway! :crescent_moon::sparkles:

Ugh same, the struggle is real! Early bird life is not for us night owls but we still slay in our own time :nail_polish::sparkles:
