The Science Behind Pre-Game Rituals – Any Experts or Experience to Share?

I’ve always been fascinated by how athletes and even casual gym-goers rely on pre-game rituals whether it’s a specific warm-up routine, listening to a certain playlist, or even wearing lucky socks. There’s got to be more to it than just superstition, right?

From what I’ve read, it seems like these habits might help with focus or even trigger a psychological readiness to perform. But I’m curious if anyone has dug deeper into the science behind it or has personal experiences where a ritual actually made a difference. Does it come down to muscle memory, mental priming, or something else entirely?

As someone who spends more time baking and coding than lifting weights, I’d love to hear from folks who’ve seen this in action whether in sports, fitness, or even other high-pressure situations. What’s your take?

OMG yesss! I always listen to my hype playlist before a game and it totally gets me in the zone. It’s like my brain knows it’s go time! :headphone::fire:
