Storyboarding and Mental Well-Being: Any Connections?

This might seem like an odd pairing at first, but I’ve been mulling over how the process of storyboarding might intersect with mental well-being. As a painter who often uses storyboards for planning visual narratives, I find the act of laying out a sequence incredibly absorbing. It forces you to focus on the flow and emotion of a moment, which can be a great way to quiet a noisy mind. On the flip side, when I’m feeling stressed or unfocused, it’s much harder to tap into that creative clarity. Has anyone else who works with storyboards or similar planning tools noticed this? Do you have any tricks for using the structure of storyboarding to actually support your mental state, rather than fight against it on tough days? I’m really curious if others have found a meaningful link here.
