Mental Endurance in Tough Times

I was reading about how certain plants can survive extreme conditions, from freezing tundras to scorching deserts. It got me wondering why do we humans often find it so hard to build that same kind of resilience in our own minds when life gets tough? Plants seem to adapt almost effortlessly, but for us, it can feel like an uphill battle. What do you think makes mental endurance so challenging to develop, and are there ways we can learn to strengthen it, much like nature does?
