Is ‘endurance’ just a fancy word for ‘I haven’t quit yet’ or do chocolate tours count as cardio?"

Endurance vs. Persistence: Where’s the Line?

Okay, so this might sound a bit silly, but I’m genuinely curious. I’ve been trying to get a better handle on my own fitness, and the word ‘endurance’ keeps popping up. It got me thinking is there a real difference between just stubbornly not quitting and actual, measurable endurance?

For instance, my job as a massage therapist involves a lot of sustained physical effort, which feels like a type of endurance in itself. But then, on my days off, I might spend hours walking through a chocolate tour, sampling everything. My brain wants to call that a victory, but my fitness tracker probably disagrees. Does that kind of sustained, enjoyable activity count toward building real stamina, or is it just clever justification for a sweet tooth?

I’d love to hear how others define this for themselves. How do you separate true endurance from simply sticking with something?
