Imagining a Fish for Mental Calm: What Would Yours Be Like?

I was reading about how observing aquariums can lower stress, and it got me wondering if we could design a fish specifically to promote mental well-being, what features would be most helpful? I’d love to hear your ideas.

For me, working in a high-pressure field, I think slow, rhythmic movements would be key. Maybe a species that swims in gentle, predictable patterns, almost like a living meditation. Soft, cool colors like muted blues or lavenders could be soothing, rather than bright, jarring ones. I also imagine it having a very tranquil “personality,” perhaps one that encourages you to pause and breathe just by watching it.

What traits do you think would help create a sense of calm? Are there any real-life animals that already give you that peaceful feeling?
