Post-run sauna for recovery: real benefit or just feeling good?
So I’ve been experimenting with hitting the sauna after my longer runs, and I’m curious what others have found. I definitely leave feeling more relaxed and loose, but I’m wondering how much of that is actual physiological recovery versus just a nice mental reset. I’ve seen some studies floating around that talk about heat adaptation and blood flow, but I’d love to hear some real-world experiences. Does it seem to help you bounce back faster for your next workout, or is it more of a wellness ritual that just makes you feel better in the moment? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth making a regular part of the routine or if I should just enjoy it occasionally for the chill vibes.
