Explaining crypto work to family when you’re mostly in alpha chats
So I’m at a family dinner, and my aunt asks what I do for a living. I say I work in crypto. She pictures me in a suit at a bank, but really I’m in a Discord, sifting through memes and occasional alpha. It’s a weird gap between perception and reality. How do you guys handle that? I don’t want to sound like I’m doing nothing, but explaining that my ‘research’ often looks like chaotic group chats feels impossible. What’s your go-to explanation that’s honest but doesn’t require a two-hour lecture on DeFi mechanics?
