Hiking Stamina vs. Carrying Heavy Gear: Who's Fitter?

I’ve noticed something interesting while chatting with friends who love hiking. They’ll talk for hours about their endurance on long trails, but then struggle to carry a backpack for more than a few minutes. Meanwhile, in my line of work as an electrician, I’m constantly hauling tools and equipment all day without a second thought. It makes me wonder does hiking stamina really translate to overall strength, or is there more to it? What do you all think about the difference between endurance in specific activities and the kind of functional strength needed for daily tasks like ours? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this!
