Hercules’ Modern Training Approach: Functional Strength or Hypertrophy?

It’s fun to imagine how ancient legends would adapt to modern training methods. Hercules’ labors required insane strength dragging the Nemean lion, holding up the sky, cleaning the Augean stables in a day. But if he were training today, would he focus more on functional strength for real-world tasks or hypertrophy for sheer size?

Functional training seems like the obvious fit think loaded carries, sandbag work, and compound lifts. But would adding some hypertrophy work help him handle the unpredictable demands of his labors, or would it just slow him down? Curious what others think. Would Hercules be hitting 5x5s or chasing the pump?
