Finding the Philosophical Balance in Conversation

I’ve always been fascinated by how philosophy can help us understand everyday interactions. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on conversations that feel out of balance either someone dominates the discussion or barely contributes at all. In occupational therapy, we talk about finding that sweet spot in engagement, and I’m curious if there’s a philosophical concept that captures this idea. Is there a term or thinker who addresses the virtue of knowing when to speak and when to listen? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how philosophy might guide us toward more meaningful exchanges.
