Finding Motivation in the Details of Payroll Work

So I teach landscaping, which is all about patience and seeing a project through from a messy patch of dirt to something beautiful. Outside of work, I’m a skydiver and really care about the environment. Those things require a ton of discipline and a clear “why” to stay motivated. Lately, I’ve been wondering how to bring that same energy to my other job as a payroll specialist. It’s crucial work, but let’s be honest, it can feel pretty repetitive and disconnected from those bigger passions. How do you find a sense of purpose in the meticulous, deadline-driven tasks? I want to approach my spreadsheets and tax forms with the same focus I bring to planning a jump or designing a sustainable garden. Any tips for building that kind of consistent drive for detailed, administrative work?
