Finding Balance Between Hustle and Mental Energy

This is something I wrestle with a lot. On one hand, there’s this constant push to do more, be more productive, and always be “on.” On the other, I know I need to protect my energy to avoid burning out completely. After a long day teaching surf lessons, the last thing I want is to feel drained by side projects or work pressure, but the hustle mindset makes it hard to switch off.

I’m curious how others manage this tension. How do you draw a line between being driven and giving yourself permission to rest? Are there small routines or mental shifts that help you preserve your energy without feeling like you’re falling behind? I’d love to hear what’s worked for you.
