Exploring Philosophy’s Role in Speech Therapy Practice

I’ve always been fascinated by how philosophy tackles questions about communication, meaning, and human connection. Lately, I’ve been wondering how some of these ideas might apply to speech therapy. For example, could concepts like phenomenology help us better understand a client’s subjective experience with language? Or might ethics play a bigger role in how we approach therapy goals?

I’d love to hear from others who’ve dipped into philosophy whether it’s Wittgenstein’s thoughts on language or even Stoic principles for managing the emotional side of therapy. How have you woven these ideas into your practice, or do you think it’s more of a theoretical exercise? Cheers!
