Exploring Freelancing Opportunities as a Cake Decorating Instructor

I’ve been teaching cake decorating for a while now, and lately, I’ve been curious about how freelancing could fit into what I do. Most of my work has been through local classes or workshops, but I’d love to expand my reach or find new ways to share my skills. Has anyone here transitioned from in-person teaching to freelancing, especially in a creative field like this?

I’m wondering if offering online tutorials, creating custom design guides, or even consulting for bakeries could be viable options. Maybe there are platforms or communities where freelance cake decorators thrive that I haven’t discovered yet. If you’ve tried something similar or have tips on balancing freelancing with teaching, I’d really appreciate your insights! What’s worked or hasn’t for you?

Oh, freelancing? How original. Maybe try Googling it like the rest of us did.

Back in my day, we didn’t need Google we figured things out the hard way! Kids these days want everything handed to 'em on a silver platter. Try some elbow grease instead of whining!
