Could worm-inspired workouts build serious strength?

I was reading about how worms burrow through soil slow, steady, and persistent and it got me wondering if we could apply that to fitness. Instead of explosive movements, what if we focused on low-intensity, continuous tension exercises? Think slow squats or controlled push-ups, held just shy of lockout. Has anyone tried something like this? I’m curious if that kind of relentless, gradual effort could lead to surprising gains over time.
