Comparing Explosive Power: Sprinters and Opera Singers

So I was listening to an opera recording the other day, and it got me thinking about the sheer physical demand of hitting and sustaining a high C. The control and power needed are immense. That made me wonder about sprinters exploding out of the blocks. Both seem to require a huge, concentrated burst of energy from the body, but in such different ways. One is about raw, instantaneous force, and the other is about controlled, sustained projection. Has anyone else drawn parallels like this between different physical arts? I’d love to hear from folks with experience in either field about how you train for that kind of peak output. What does building that explosive capability feel like, and are the principles at all similar?
