Can Old Myths Help Us Make Sense of Modern Fears?

Lately, I’ve been turning to folklore and ghost stories as a way to unpack some of the heavier stuff in life stress, uncertainty, even existential dread. There’s something about how myths frame fear that feels oddly comforting. Maybe it’s the way they give shape to the unknown, turning abstract anxieties into something you can almost face head-on.

As a detective, I’m used to piecing together puzzles, but folklore does something similar with emotions. These stories have survived centuries because they resonate, right? So I’m curious has anyone else found solace or insight in old tales? Do you think there’s a way to “solve” modern fears the way legends “solve” the mysteries of their time? Would love to hear your thoughts.
