Can mental imagery really help with physical recovery?

I’ve always been fascinated by how the mind and body connect, especially when it comes to healing. Lately, I’ve been wondering if picturing your muscles repairing themselves almost like a little animation in your head could actually make a difference in how fast you bounce back from a workout or injury. It sounds a bit out there, but I’m curious if anyone’s tried this or knows of any solid info on it. Does visualizing recovery do more than just keep you motivated?
