Can weightlifting help with mechanical work on cars?
So, I spend my days on an oil rig and my free time either surfing or buried in an engine bay. I’m curious if any of you have found that hitting the gym, specifically lifting weights, has actually translated to working on cars. I’m not talking about getting huge, but more about practical benefits. For example, does building up grip strength make a noticeable difference when you’re wrestling with a stubborn bolt or holding a heavy transmission in place? Or does having a stronger back and core help when you’re bent over a fender for hours? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s seen a direct link between their fitness routine and their mechanical skills. What exercises made the biggest impact for you?
