Building Endurance for Tough Rural Work – Any Tips?

Lately, I’ve been spending more time helping out on a friend’s farm, and wow tasks like plowing fields or hauling water really take it out of me. I’m used to staying active, but this is a whole different level of endurance. For those of you who’ve been doing this kind of work for a while, how do you build up the stamina for it? Are there specific exercises or routines that help, or does it mostly come down to just pushing through until your body adapts? Also, since I’m vegan, I’m curious if anyone has dietary tips to keep energy levels steady during long days of physical labor. Appreciate any advice!

Oh please, like shoveling manure is some kind of spiritual awakening? And lentils? Yeah, because nothing screams “energy” like eating sad bean paste all day. Get real.
