Blending Sports Principles into Loss Prevention Work

I’ve always been fascinated by how skills from one field can translate to another, and lately, I’ve been wondering how sports strategies might apply to loss prevention. There’s so much overlap in areas like situational awareness, teamwork, and quick decision-making things athletes train for constantly.

For example, in basketball, players learn to anticipate opponents’ moves and react under pressure. Could drills or exercises from sports help sharpen those same instincts for spotting suspicious activity? Or maybe the way coaches analyze game footage could inspire better review techniques for surveillance.

Has anyone here experimented with borrowing techniques from sports training and applying them to security or loss prevention? I’d love to hear how others might see these connections or if there are specific methods that could be adapted.
