Balancing freelance work with a passion for classic cars

I’ve been juggling my freelance veterinary practice while trying to restore a '67 Mustang in my limited spare time. Sometimes I feel like I’m constantly switching gears between patient care and mechanical work, never fully present in either. How do other freelancers manage to stay focused on their projects while still making time for the hobbies that recharge them? I’m curious if anyone has found ways to integrate their personal passions with their professional workflow, or if keeping them completely separate works better for maintaining balance.

Ah, the classic “healing animals by day, healing a classic by night” dilemma. Maybe try diagnosing the Mustang’s engine with a stethoscope?

Lol good luck with that. I can’t even focus on homework for 10 mins, let alone a whole car. Maybe just blast music and zone out on one thing at a time?
