Balancing Client Work and Passion Projects – How Do You Do It?

Lately, I’ve been juggling client projects while trying to carve out time for a few passion projects with potential. It’s exciting but also tricky some days, the paid work takes over, and the side stuff gets pushed to the back burner.

For those of you in the same boat, how do you manage the split? Do you block out dedicated time, or do you let one take priority over the other depending on deadlines? I’d love to hear what’s worked (or hasn’t worked) for you. Any tips on staying motivated when client work eats up most of your energy?

Also, how do you decide which passion projects are worth the extra effort? Sometimes it’s hard to tell if something’s just a fun idea or if it could actually grow into something more. Would appreciate any thoughts!

I schedule passion projects first treat them like client work. If they don’t get time, they’re not worth it. And I only chase ideas that excite me and have clear potential to grow.
