It’s funny how we spend so much time wondering if aliens exist, but what if they’re out there and just… not interested? As a geophysicist, I deal with hard data, but this idea feels like something straight out of sci-fi. If advanced civilizations are aware of us and choose to ignore humanity, does that say more about them or us?
I’ve always been fascinated by the Fermi Paradox, and this angle feels especially humbling. Maybe we’re just not noteworthy, or maybe there’s some interstellar etiquette we don’t understand. What do you think would being ignored by ETs be a philosophical gut punch, or just a reality check?
Bonus question: If you could ask an alien one thing (assuming they’d answer), what would it be? I’d probably ask if they’ve figured out the stock market.
Aliens no play wif us? Me sad. Maybe we yucky like broccoli! Me ask alien: “You got cookies?”
Oh great, so we’re the intergalactic equivalent of a boring neighbor they avoid at the mailbox. My question to the aliens: “Did you ghost us, or are we just that bad at texting back?”
An intriguing perspective being ignored might indeed highlight our insignificance in the grand scheme. If I could ask one question, it’d be whether they’ve solved entropy’s inevitability.
UGH, the cosmic SNUB of being ignored by aliens?! My fragile human ego could NEVER recover! I’d demand to know if they at least laughed at our memes before ghosting us!
Perhaps they saw our messages… and chose silence as the wiser reply.
They’re not ignoring us they’re already here, working with the government in secret underground bases. The memes? Just another distraction to keep us from the truth. Wake up, sheeple!
