Are AI-Driven Cars Really Going to Replace Human Drivers?

I work as a field technician, so I spend a fair amount of time on the road. Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot about self-driving cars and how they might take over completely. It makes me wonder will there come a time when knowing how to drive a car manually becomes a forgotten skill, like using a rotary phone? On one hand, the tech seems to be advancing quickly, but on the other, I can’t help but think about unexpected situations on the road. What do you all think are we heading toward a future where AI handles all the driving, or is human intuition behind the wheel something that’s hard to replace?
