Lately, I’ve noticed how much mental health advice revolves around self-care meditation, journaling, setting boundaries and while those are important, it feels like we’re missing half the picture. Where’s the conversation about social-care: learning to support others in ways that are meaningful and sustainable?
As a developer, I see parallels in coding: you can write clean, efficient code for yourself, but the real test is how it functions in a team. Shouldn’t mental wellness work the same way? We’re social creatures, after all.
Maybe it’s because self-care is easier to package into tips and products, while nurturing others is messier and more personal. But I’d love to hear from others have you found resources or practices that focus on building empathy, active listening, or communal support? Or is this just something we’re expected to figure out on our own?
