Ever notice how “falling in love” sounds graceful, but in reality, it’s more like stumbling into a hidden trap? One minute you’re minding your own business, the next boom your emotional firewalls are down, and suddenly you’re vulnerable to heartbreak.

As someone who teaches ice sculpting, I’m used to precision and control, but love feels like the opposite. It’s unpredictable, messy, and leaves you exposed. Maybe that’s why I keep comparing it to cybersecurity both involve trust, risk, and hoping you don’t get hacked emotionally.

Does anyone else feel this way? How do you balance staying open with protecting yourself? I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially if you’ve found ways to navigate it without building a fortress around your heart.
