I’ve noticed how often we focus on communication or active listening when talking about building relationships, but there’s one skill that doesn’t get enough attention: holding space for others. It’s that ability to be fully present without judgment, letting someone share without feeling the need to fix or steer the conversation.
In my work as an executive assistant, I’ve seen how powerful this can be whether with colleagues or clients. It’s not about having the right response; it’s about creating a safe moment for someone to feel heard. Spirituality has deepened my appreciation for this, but it applies everywhere.
Has anyone else found this to be transformative in their relationships? Or are there other underrated skills you’ve leaned on? Would love to hear your thoughts!
