Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how martial arts can be more than just physical training. There’s a strong social component whether it’s the camaraderie in a dojo, the respect between partners, or even the nonverbal communication during sparring. For those who train, have you found ways to intentionally develop social skills through practice?
I’m curious if anyone has tried things like leading beginner workshops, organizing martial arts meetups, or even using the discipline’s principles (like patience or active listening) in everyday conversations.
