Social Wellness: More Than Just Snack Time?

I saw a health educator’s take on social wellness recently, and it got me thinking. In my line of work, we’re always looking at how different systems connect and support each other, and I wonder if the same applies here. Is the idea of social wellness really just about casual hangouts and shared food, or is there a deeper, structural component to it?

I’m curious how others build meaningful connections that genuinely support their well-being. For me, diving into local cultural history or volunteering backstage at community theater has created some of my most supportive social bonds it’s about shared purpose, not just proximity. But I’m sure there are so many other ways to approach this. What does social wellness look like in your routine, and how do you make it feel substantial?
