Marriage as a Medical Treatment: Side Effects and Long-Term Benefits

So, I was chatting with a friend the other day about how relationships can feel like a bit of an experiment sometimes full of trial and error, adjustments, and occasional breakthroughs. It got me thinking: if marriage were a medical treatment, what would the side effects and long-term benefits look like?

On one hand, I imagine there’d be some immediate side effects like emotional vulnerability, the occasional headache from overthinking, or maybe even a temporary loss of personal space. But then there’s the potential for long-term benefits, like emotional stability, a stronger immune system from all that shared laughter, and maybe even a longer lifespan thanks to having a built-in support system.

What do you all think? Have you noticed any “side effects” or benefits in your own relationships that feel almost clinical? I’d love to hear your thoughts especially if you’ve got a unique perspective or experience to share!
