I’ve been reflecting on luxury lately, especially as someone who spends a lot of time in virtual reality creating art. In VR, I can craft entire worlds without material constraints, which makes me wonder: when we pursue luxury in the real world, are we trying to escape from something, or is it a way to connect more deeply with who we are? For instance, does owning a high-end piece or indulging in an expensive experience help us define our identity, or does it just distract us from everyday realities? I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether luxury grounds you or serves as a temporary refuge.
