Last-Minute Prop Failures: How Do You Handle the Panic?

So, picture this: you’re hours away from a shoot or event, and a key prop you’ve spent weeks on just decides to give up. Maybe a seam splits, a piece snaps, or the electronics fizzle out. As a building inspector, I’m used to things not going to plan on-site, but with props, it feels way more personal.

How do you balance that initial panic with the need to improvise something that still looks good? Any tricks for quick thinking or materials you always keep on hand for emergencies?
