How Strength & Endurance Training Can Help an Appliance Repair Tech

I’ve been working as an appliance repair technician for a while now, and it’s no secret the job can be pretty physically demanding. Between hauling heavy appliances, crouching under sinks, and working in awkward positions, I’ve realized my fitness level plays a bigger role than I thought.

For those who’ve incorporated strength and endurance training into similar work, what’s been the most helpful? I’m curious if focusing on core stability or grip strength has made a noticeable difference for you. And for endurance do you find cardio helps with staying sharp during long service calls?

I’m also into vintage tools and DIY projects, so I love hearing how others blend fitness with hands-on work. Any tips or routines that have worked for you?

They want you to think it’s just about fitness, but big appliance companies design them to break faster so you keep working harder. Stay strong, but question why the job’s so tough in the first place.
