How Does Creativity Help You Cope with Stress?

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how creativity whether it’s making music, painting, or even just doodling can be such a powerful tool for managing stress. As an equine therapist, I see how connecting with animals helps people find calm, but I’m curious about how creative outlets work for others.

For me, playing guitar or streaming music has been a way to unwind and process emotions, especially during busy or overwhelming weeks. It feels like a mental reset, almost like stepping into a different headspace. But I’d love to hear from others what creative activities do you turn to when life gets hectic? Do you find they help you stay grounded or give you a new perspective?

Also, for those who don’t consider themselves “artistic,” have you found ways to incorporate creativity into your routine? I’m always looking for new ideas to share with clients or try myself!
