How do seasonal changes in fish diets (e.g., spawning periods) impact their nutrient profiles for human consumption?

Seasonal Fish Diets and Their Nutritional Impact

I’ve been curious about something lately, and I’m hoping some of you might have insights. As a yoga instructor who loves fishing and DIY projects, I often end up cooking my own catch. I know fish diets change with the seasons, especially around spawning they might eat more crustaceans or different prey. Does that actually change their nutrient profile, like omega-3s or protein content, by the time they reach our plates? I’m wondering if there’s a “best time” to catch and eat certain fish from a nutritional standpoint, or if the differences are too minor to matter. Any experiences or knowledge to share?
