How Do Landscape Architects Embrace Nature’s Changes in Their Designs?

I’ve always admired the work of landscape architects, but there’s something that’s been on my mind lately. Nature is constantly evolving plants grow, seasons shift, and erosion reshapes the land. How do you folks in the field handle that uncertainty when designing a space? Does it ever feel like you’re creating something that’s only “complete” for a brief moment before nature takes over?

As a texture artist, I’m used to working with materials that stay put, so the idea of designing for something so fluid fascinates me. Do you see the unpredictability as a challenge, or is it part of what makes the work rewarding? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from those who’ve worked on long-term projects. Cheers!

Nature doesn’t care about your plans it’ll twist your designs into something raw and real. That’s the beauty of it. Control is an illusion; embrace the chaos.
