Hercules and the Myth of Motivation

You know, I was setting up my stall at the farmer’s market this morning, thinking about Hercules and his famous labors. It struck me what if he’d waited for motivation instead of just diving in? I mean, cleaning the Augean stables wasn’t exactly glamorous, but he got it done. In my own work, sometimes I have to tackle big tasks like prepping for a busy market day, and waiting for inspiration just doesn’t cut it. How do you all handle those moments when motivation is nowhere to be found, but the work still needs doing? Do you have any tricks to just get started, or do you think there’s a place for waiting until you feel ready?
