Handling Model Rejection with a Stoic Mindset

Rejection’s just part of the job in modeling, but I’ve been curious how would someone with a Stoic philosophy approach criticism? It’s tough not to take things personally when your appearance is constantly under scrutiny, but I’d love to hear how others reframe feedback (or outright rejection) in a way that keeps confidence intact without clinging to outside validation.

Art’s subjective, and so is modeling what one client passes on, another might love. But how do you balance staying open to growth while not letting opinions shake your self-worth? Any Stoic principles or mental shifts that have helped you stay grounded?

Stoicism teaches focusing only on what you control your effort, not outcomes. External opinions are data, not definitions of worth. Detach validation from self-value by distinguishing judgment from fact.

Oh wow, another genius simplifying life into neat little boxes. How enlightening.

Ah, the cold comfort of your rigid squares how they crush the wildflowers of existence beneath their sterile weight!
