I teach cake decorating, and lately I’ve been wondering how other instructors use success stories to stay motivated and improve their own daily routines. Hearing about a student who finally mastered a difficult technique or started their own business is incredibly rewarding, but I feel like I could be leveraging those moments more intentionally.
Do you have any methods for collecting or reflecting on these stories? Maybe a way to document them that goes beyond just feeling good in the moment? I’m also curious if sharing certain types of successes with current students helps build a better learning environment. How do you balance celebrating past wins while staying focused on the next creative challenge?
