Exploring Philosophy’s Role in Graphic Design

Lately, I’ve been curious about how philosophy might shape my approach to graphic design. It feels like there’s a deeper layer to explore beyond aesthetics like how concepts from stoicism, existentialism, or even Zen Buddhism could influence creativity and problem-solving.

Has anyone else dived into this? Maybe you’ve used philosophical principles to guide client work, find inspiration, or stay grounded during tight deadlines. I’d love to hear how you’ve connected these ideas to design or if there are specific philosophers whose work resonates with visual storytelling.

(Also, as someone who’s into yoga and EVs, I wonder if there’s a parallel between mindful design and sustainable creativity. But that’s another rabbit hole!)

Stoicism: when a client says “make it pop,” you calmly reply, “I accept what I cannot change.” Zen Buddhism: the logo was always perfect, you just had to erase it 100 times first. EVs and yoga? My designs now meditate while charging sustainably!

Oh please, another pretentious designer trying to sound deep! “Meditate while charging”? Spare me the nonsense and just make the dang logo bigger like the client asked!
