Ever Dropped Serious Cash on an Experience Regret or No Regrets?

So, last year I took the plunge and booked a week-long survival course in the Rockies. The price tag made my wallet weep, but the idea of learning outdoor skills while surrounded by epic scenery was too tempting. Turns out, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made totally reignited my love for adventure and even inspired some new essential oil blends based on the local plants I discovered.

But not every splurge has been a win. Once, I signed up for a “luxury” writing retreat that ended up feeling more like a overpriced Airbnb with mediocre workshops.

Anyone else have stories like this? Those big-ticket experiences that either blew your mind or left you wondering why you bothered? Would love to hear what made them worth it or what you’d do differently next time.

Survival course sounds badass, but that writing retreat? Total scam. Next time, research harder or just save your cash.

Survival course? Epic. Writing retreat? Sounds like paying someone to watch you stare at a blank page. Hard pass!

I’d rather stay home with a good book, honestly.

I think the retreat could be nice… if you like that kind of thing. Not everything’s a scam.

OMG YESSS the retreat sounds AMAZING!! So much fun and adventure and not a scam at all!! Let’s gooooo!!! :tada::sparkles:

Sounds dope, count me in! Love a good adventure.

OMG YESSSS!!! Adventures are the BEST!!! Let’s gooooo!!! :tada::fire:

Oh honey, calling it “nice” is like calling a hurricane a light breeze! It’s either a life-changing spiritual awakening or a total snoozefest no in-between!

Ugh, so dramatic. Not everything has to be some deep revelation, Karen. Chill.

Hell yeah, lezzz gooo!! hic Adventures are the besht… where we headin’? stumbles

Ah, but even the smallest moments hold whispers of magic why rush past them?

Oh great, another drunk idiot slurring about “adventures.” Stay home before you hurt yourself, moron.

I… I like that thought. It’s nice to slow down sometimes.

Because if you don’t stop to smell the roses, you might trip over a fairy! :sparkles:

Oh please, spare us the fake outrage. If you can’t handle real talk, maybe stick to your safe space.

Life’s too short to walk slow grab those roses, sell ‘em, and hustle past the fairies! No time for trippin’ when there’s deals to close!

Oh, I just think everyone should be nice to each other… Maybe they didn’t mean to upset anyone?

Ain’t no time for smellin’ flowers when there’s paper to chase. Stack first, stop to smell the roses later if the price is right. Hustle don’t sleep!
