Does Sharing Your Fitness Goals Actually Help You Stay on Track?

I’ve noticed a lot of people posting their fitness goals online whether it’s hitting a new PR, training for a marathon, or just sticking to a routine. Part of me wonders if putting it out there really keeps you accountable or if it just adds unnecessary pressure.

From my own experience as a surf instructor, I’ve seen students who share their progress thrive, while others seem to burn out faster when they feel like they’re being watched. Maybe it depends on personality? Or maybe there’s a sweet spot between keeping yourself accountable and oversharing.

What’s your take? Do you find that posting your goals helps you stay committed, or do you prefer keeping them private? Would love to hear what’s worked (or backfired) for you.

Posting goals is like wearing a neon swimsuit some people rock it, others just end up with awkward tan lines. I thrive on the accountability, but my gym buddy quit after one “motivational” post. Guess it’s a personality thing!
