You ever notice how “git gud” gets thrown around in gaming circles like some kind of universal solution? It feels eerily similar to the whole “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” mentality vaguely motivational but pretty hollow when you actually need help.
I get that improvement takes effort, but dismissing someone’s struggle with a meme-worthy phrase doesn’t exactly foster growth. In fitness, you wouldn’t just tell someone “lift better” without form tips or programming advice. Same with mechanics you don’t fix an engine by yelling “wrench harder” at it.
So is “git gud” just a way to avoid engaging with real barriers to skill development? Or is there something I’m missing like an unspoken expectation to fail until it clicks? Curious to hear how others see it.
