Discipline vs. Nature’s Rhythms: Are We Overdoing It?

Lately, I’ve noticed how much we glorify non-stop discipline early mornings, grinding 24/7, pushing past limits. But in my work with animals, I see how they thrive on cycles: intense activity followed by deep rest. Even predators like lions spend most of their day lounging! It makes me wonder are we setting ourselves up for burnout by ignoring natural rhythms?

I’d love to hear from others who balance discipline with recovery. How do you structure your training or work to align with energy cycles? Do you think society’s obsession with constant productivity is missing the bigger picture? Curious what’s worked for you!

The city never sleeps, but even the hardest cases need a break. Lions got it right hunt hard, rest harder. Maybe we’re the ones chasing our own tails.
