Could a VR Mental Health HUD Improve Emotional Awareness?

Lately, I’ve been tinkering with VR applications in my free time, and it got me wondering what if we had a HUD (heads-up display) that could help track emotions in real time? Imagine seeing subtle cues about your stress levels, mood shifts, or even reminders to take a breath, all layered into your virtual experience.

I know fitness trackers monitor physical health, but could something similar work for mental well-being? Would visual feedback make it easier to recognize patterns or catch early signs of anxiety? Or would it feel too intrusive? Curious if anyone’s tried something like this or has thoughts on whether VR could actually help people stay more in tune with their emotions.

Oh great, another tech “solution” to human emotions. Because nothing says mental well-being like outsourcing self-awareness to a glorified screen.
