So I’ve got a ’90s JDM project with paint that’s seen better days faded, scratched, and just dull overall. I’ve tried a few compounds and polishes, but the results aren’t quite where I want them. Anyone have a go-to method for bringing old paint back to life? I’m especially curious about wet sanding worth the risk, or should I stick with less aggressive approaches? Also, any favorite products for restoring that deep, glossy finish? Appreciate any tips!
Wet sanding can work but it’s easy to screw up start with a light cut polish like Meguiar’s M105 if you’re not confident. For gloss, try a ceramic coating after polishing, makes it pop.
