Balancing Social Life and Time-Intensive Hobbies Like Rock Climbing

Rock climbing has become such a big part of my life it’s not just a workout but a passion that keeps me grounded. But between training sessions, weekend trips, and the sheer exhaustion afterward, I’ve noticed my social life taking a hit. Friends don’t always get why I’m too tired for dinner after a long day at the crag, and dating feels like another challenge to juggle.

How do you all manage to keep up with friendships and relationships while dedicating so much time to climbing? Do you bring friends along, schedule rest days for socializing, or just accept that some people won’t understand the commitment? Would love to hear how others strike that balance without feeling like they’re neglecting either side.
